Schimmel
Pianos
For
well over one hundred and fifty years pianos made in Germany have been
regarded as some of the finest instruments available. In 1885 Wilhelm
Schimmel built his first piano in a rented workshop not far from Leipzig.
In less than ten years the company that Schimmel established had moved
to larger premises twice and produced one thousand high quality pianos.
The
reputation for high quality pianos produced by the Schimmel family continues
to today under the leadership of Nikolaus
W. Schimmel (third generation) with the production of top class grand
and upright pianos in traditional cabinets, limited edition signature
models (like the 120TN/SE pictured above) and also 21st
century streamlined styling, including the world's
first plexiglas grand piano.
As
the number one piano manufacturer in Germany, Schimmel enjoys a worldwide
reputation for excellent quality, outstanding design and manufacturing
skill. From their ultramodern
facilities in Braunschweig, old world craftsmanship is combined with
Computer-Assisted Design, leading the way in piano technology.
In
1997 Carlingford Music Centre was appointed exclusive Sydney dealer for
Schimmel pianos and has a small selection of these quality instruments
on display in their Pennant Hills Road showroom.
