The PETROF P 135 K1 upright piano is one of the tallest uprights available at 135cm and the pinnacle of the master built upright piano series. These are upright pianos with the greatest sound potential and rivals many grand pianos. If you do not have the room for a 6' grand piano then this is for you. This model uses the Renner Action with genuine Renner parts from the Renner factory in Germany. This is a widely acclaimed action and is used by many European piano factories. The instrument provides wider possibilities for a player to control the sound. The P 135K1 piano uses 3 foot pedals and a hand lever. The hand lever activates the practice pedal(reduces volume for practicing) which would normally be controlled by the middle pedal. The middle pedal is then used on this model as a sostenuto. This is the same as a grand piano and enables notes played before the pedal is depressed to sustain and all notes played after the pedal is depressed not to sustain. Another unique feature of all Petrof upright pianos is the use of agraffe tuning pins on all 88 notes. This allows far greater accuracy in the scale of the strings. Every Petrof piano is supplied with a European Excellence certificate that guarantees that Petrof pianos are made in Europe but more importantly that nearly all the materials in the piano are also made in Europe and not from somewhere like China or Korea. Rim - Robust construction from spruce, 5 vertical posts, made in PETROF factory. 

Iron plate - PETROF construction with agraffes and made from grey cast iron in the Czech Republic.Plate working is done in PETROF factory on special CNC machines. Top finish is consistent with surfacing of grand piano plates. 

Hardware fittings – Lacquered polished brass made in Czech Republic. Pinblock - Special beech plywood type Multiplex. Original veneer thickness 2 mm compressed to the density 800 – 850 kg/m3 (= 6 veneer layers/cm). High moisture resistant glue to resist atmospheric changes.

Soundboard - The soundboard is made from solid spruce wood in PETROF company. Its active surface is 1,2222 m2. 

Ribs – There are 10 ribs circular shaped and are made from European spruce wood in PETROF factory. The cross rib is produced from beech wood. 

Bridges - The bridges are made from solid beech wood in PETROF company. 

Tuning pins – Nickel plated steel made in Czech Republic. 

Strings – Steel wire from Mapes USA and Röslau Germany. Copper winding from Degen Germany and then made in PETROF factory. 

Hammer Heads – German Renner hammers. 

Action – Renner original action installed and regulated in PETROF factory. Dampers – 70 Renner original dampers. 

Keys – Made from the finest spruce wood in PETROF factory. Acrylic key tops from Polyplex Sweden.

Pedals – Solid brass made in Czech Republic.
